This book seems to me essential, as it illuminates the western light this oriental Buddhism ... There are, however certain lengths that can drown the reader's interest especially when the author addresses the art and poetry. Contrary to what Marion thought, this book is not sloppy. The author knows where it goes. Some concepts are even better explained here than in other books on meditation. It is a book regarded as necessary for a Buddhist maturation as are those of Philippe Cornu.
