I have now set up the second machine of this type for my daughter. My 8540 comes from 12/2013 and runs flawlessly since also like for the next generation in our own apartment for 3 weeks. The printed "manual" is not bad for a rough operation. Anyone who has ever had a satellite receiver, is placed in front of any problems. Unfortunately, the downloadable manual is not in accordance with the aktualisisiert firmware changes. Is bearable. Both devices I had after the primary installation the firmware / channel list update via download from the Xoro website and transfer it to a USB flash drive. Everything went flawlessly. It is also advisable to download the Send List Editor, a simple but really very good tool. For the offered Videobarbeitung there are better and cheaper alternatives. The remote control is both tactile and functional absolutely fine. The unit itself is very small indeed. In my work of 8540, also behind the TV mounted without visual contact, with a Harmony One outstanding.
Conclusion: Very good satellite receiver with reliable recording capability (USB media is of course also required) Multiple and meaningful connections (something has otherwise only Aldi) Superior Media Player (there really anything again what I have) Not for users who have no computer experience
