Then the production is amazing (at my Canon L, but in a different genre). We just regret the absence of joints to feel a little more confident in difficult conditions. The objective is cold at first contact (yes, there in the metal, must get used), also quite heavy, all really exudes quality. The only slight downside concerns focus ring which could have been a little smoother, but it's still very good.
After the feelings come in shooting: clear aim, of course, highly responsive autofocus and hangs well.
Then finally the images I was first impressed by the quality achieved at full aperture (that you no longer want that, it is even a shame), then after a few days chagrined to see a recurring fault developed. First I made a micro adjustment, but I was not entirely satisfied. So I ended up buying the Sigma dock and the problem is now solved entirely. The correction was not consistent effect throughout the range MAP
(+6 +8 +7 +7). This fine adjustment is really a unique micro adjustment than a zoom range (focus point of nonlinear ramps).
Since the picture is sensational, including short distances of MAP, which offers made very interesting proxy (integration of environment in the field). Vignetting is indeed important to fully open but it helps typer clichés (!). And really, what quality 1.4! My Canon 50 1.4 is far behind in this respect (and I love it ...), and rebuilt some of its delay at 2.8. Truly a cut above, this Sigma.
I now look enviously at the 50 ...
Note: the mass of the lens does not penalize I think its handling (for me quite the contrary). I understand that it becomes a handicap on porting day, but not at the moment of trigger for me.
