I tested it with the Control 1.70 Opti software: it is a CAV drive and it runs at an average of 60% of the advertised speed, which is very correct.
It is to this day for me the best value / market price of the optical playback on PC
I have no problem to rip it from my shopping BR player DL (double sided) in MKV format to my HDD and then disseminate then read on my Ethernet LAN (I recommend for ripping using the Handbrake freeware software ).
For example with an Intel 4770K processor 3.9 Mhz (8 100% threads), it takes about 2:25 (single-pass and high quality) to rip a movie BR-DL 50GB 1080p + audio tracks DTS-HD (also with the freeware residing DVBFab Passkey Lite) with 21 fps on average.
A buy eyes closed.
