My usual shaving, Gillette Excel is 2 or 3 blades (more is marketing and nothing else) + foam or gel. I have tried most of the foams and gels and have retained a few. What counts in a razor "mechanical" is the quality of the steel combined with the finesse of the blade will determine the hair cutting height. In an electric shaver "grid" is the thickness of the gate that will determine the cutting height. Weekend or short trip, I use an electric razor for convenience and also for rest skin irritations inevitable "knife". Not being from early youth I had a lot (Krups, Sunbeam, Remington, Philips ...) because the mechanical blades are not before the 80 top, electric razors were much more prevalent and brands numerous. In recent years, many brands have disappeared and I use the best known part of the Gillette Group, namely Braun. The latest is before Braun Synchro 7570, the last is a Braun 790 CC. They are quite similar and very well made (the 790 is a little more bling bling in his silver lining and a little larger, but it is the same quality that is high. However useless to expatiate: no electric shaver does not shave as well as close and a good blade. And a little to see in a shopping spree phase, I ordered this Panasonic has received very good reviews here and there. I was initially a little confused by the shape and width of the head of Braun quite different and in fact, much more "clumsy". For the moment I prefer architecture Braun, from the viewpoint of grip and ergonomics of the movement. This impression is linked to the width of the head of the Panasonic (5 instead of 3 heads are a grid much wider and therefore more "clumsy" in the "bends"). That being the gimbal mount type needed for my opinion on a wide head is quite sophisticated but requires some practice. Overall the quality of shaving is similar to that of Braun 790, ie for a very good electrical, without irritation or cuts. The Panasonic is relatively quiet and vibration or unpleasant heating. It is an excellent razor. The maintenance dock is much less voluminous than that of Braun, which is not the case of the rather massive charger. The detergent is a powder which I know the nature contained in a small cartridge. I prefer on this Braun cartridge much bigger but containing a liquid that is simply a variety of product washing fragrant glass (mixture of alcohol and detergent). Finally the cover is unfortunately Panasonic shabby (plastoc unworthy poor quality razor) and can not contain the charger is therefore satisfied to hang in the travel bag. Ultimately the biggest complaint we do is about the price rarely below 260 (the best price is also on Amazon). Note a "new" model SV90 not yet sold in Europe but exists in the USA and Japan for 580 (oops!) This compared to 790-795 Braun found quite easily around 200-250.
