Then, of course, we attack the record. I must say it is quite clear but you have to spend time to avoid missing paragraphs. I advise those who are new to a game or two for nothing and watch the video instructions that exists on the internet to get it right on investments maps (including major developments cards, etc., whose placement is not at all clear at first). It took me 3 parts before the proper distribution of cards and XD plateau.
I also advise to play directly with the normal mode (not family) to have direct access to the richness and complexity of the game and understand the rules and faster.
Then, you know? there is so much to do! You have 14 rounds to maximum points. Your points are calculated at the end of the 14th turn, depending on: the number and the quality of your home; the number and quality of animals; the size of your family; the number of pens that you have; the number of field you; the number of points made in your accommodation (the améngements, these are buildings, tools, accessories, characters, that you can deploy in your farm to help your development, there are galore !!!); ... There are lots of ways to achieve victory. Each party is an opportunity to try new strategies to specialize in a particular production (type: intensive pig farming or cereal)? Diversify, instead, to avoid the negative end of the game? Enlarge the faster family, knowing that it will reach the feed, if possible without begging? Slow down opponents by monopolizing the good deeds cards? Everything is possible in Agricola. Even survival is possible in several ways: raise animals and have them slaughtered via the local butcher? be self-sufficient by growing lots of vegetables? Or bet everything on fishing, and not to invest in the fields?
In short, this game is really very rich and constantly renewed, even though I think other periods of cards could have been integrated. It is playable with family for a simple reason: it is that everyone plays for himself; the only interaction between players occurs when selecting action cards on the game board Indeed, we must be very careful what will make or can others do not be fooled. but there is no aggressiveness in this game (which is somewhat reminiscent of the Ride, where finally everyone does his quiet thing, in just trying to avoid confrontations with other railway).
Of course, Agricola remains a management game, it takes time, if only to assimilate the rules (that said, once understood, the mechanics are very nice shape and very easy to remember) ... so if you just want to laugh quickly, take a Uno or Ligretto. But for ludophiles Agricola risk, for against, to become a classic that will occupy (very) many evenings!
To note, an important detail: the game can be played alone (to improve its development strategies, but it is not very fair play XD), or from 2 players! which is great for couples.
