I had previously ordered me twice the flash 866 EX II of Nissin, which I unfortunately do not promised (detailed reason see review there). Coming soon: annoying Fiepgeräusch, settings incompatible with (C.Fn and some special functions) Camera Menu, processing had not soo good exposure unreliable.
But now to the YN-568EX II: I've tested the flash on my EOS 70D and was initially very surprised, because I was able to close on the problems ETTL, Manual and Stroposkop (HZ and lightning speed) camera menu. Moreover, and this inspired me even more, I can via the camera menu also set the C.Fn functions of the flash (when Nissin I got here just the words "incompatible accessory".
In addition, the flash in ETTL mode exposed reliably and the AF assist lamp ensures reliable auto focus in the dark.
Problem-The flash can also be used as a master flash operate the 430 EX II to trigger, and vice versa. The EOS 70D can act directly as master and trigger both external flashes simultaneously or delayed.
I now could not detect any negative difference from the 430 EX II to. The YN-568EX II is indeed larger and heavier, but also has a higher guide number. Recharging works quickly and the optional sound indicates the flash readiness is also very nice (incl. In remote lightning).
A little thing that could be improved, is the attachment to the hot shoe. At Canon, you simply insert a lever and you're done. In this (and all other known to me flashes from other manufacturers) the flash is locked with a dial. This is somewhat tricky, but not worth a deduction in my eyes, when you consider that the flash does an excellent job and still only costs a fraction of comparable original accessories.
So far I can only say: strong buy recommendation!
