One reason is that it is not about classic radio plays, but rather audio documentaries where witnesses have their say or music samples are imported from the collection of the Deutsche Grammophon.
The focus of this CD is - in addition to the life and work of Beethoven - his 9th symphony and its historical background. But: There is no single narrator, but the CD is based on a conversation between the narrator, the French Revolution, the Enlightenment or the technical progress. So the CD not only conveys facts about Beethoven himself, but beyond the scope by out of the box and makes the abstract concept of the Enlightenment tangible and understandable. For 9-year-old - and their parents. :-)
In my view, highly recommended!
