I bought this guide based on the rave reviews I've read on Amazon.com. Unfortunately for me, it does not fit what I was looking, it is a sum of more than 20 euros badly placed on me. Certainly it is very comprehensive, all varieties of a species are presented, each with its illustration. But we have, more often than Latin names. The common name is yet handy too. We pass from one species to another with no real transition, a visible record by type, demarcated by a specific page, was practical: Mushrooms tube leafs etc. Similarly, make a duplicate for hazardous species would not be a luxury. I expect a mushroom guide can take it to the field to have rapid information on edibility gathering. But this is not possible because this indication crucial in my opinion, is most often not given: if there is no information is that the fungus does not present any danger. I find it very insufficient and a pictogram could well have provided information in nod. If you want to document with a clear head, knowing scholarly name, this book may agree but if you want to take a field guide, it is, in my opinion, completely inappropriate.
