The Originals - Symphony No. 9 in E minor op 95 / Die Moldau from:. My Country / Les Preludes (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Dvorak's Ninth Symphony is often played as a "beautiful" music, her wealth of melody is like this to the fore - a perfectly valid option. The outstanding interpretations complement this by a melancholy veil, which you can find in music (including Maazel, also thanks the Vienna Philharmonic a still valid recording, which is very committed to the beauty of the music).
Fricsay now goes one step further: he finds in music existential, covers the entire range of human emotions. If the lower strings play their theme in the first movement, one is shocked by the pain that is in these bars. At the same time knows Fricsay also the self-rearing, which allows among other things reflected in the Belchbläserattacken. From the sheer, dance joy to the depths of pain and despair the full range of emotions is mapped. That's great art. The Berliner Philharmoniker are here far from the pure euphony, as you would then vorfand under Karajan. In sum, therefore, an excellent interpretation that explores the extremes, without denying the beauty of music.
The Vltava River here in an exemplary interpretation, appropriate melancholic, with dramatic accents.
Good sound quality.
