Before giving an opinion, I want to understand why the book presentation on the site is accompanied by the biography of Jenifer Weiler as an author. To my knowledge this lady has nothing to do with this book. As the subtitle of the book there is a collection of stories from nine African writers who tell or reinventing a childhood memory, collected and prefaced by Alain Mabanckou. But back to the basics, the book. To have traveled and lived for over twenty years in many African countries, French or English, I can say that this book, in its simplicity touched me with its freshness and spontaneity. I'm not saying his naivety, word too often used as derogatory. I urge you to read it and I'm sure the parents provided they are still time-will find food for read excerpts and interest in doing read by their children.
