I purchased this product about 18 months ago. Allegedly, the lamp has a lifespan of up to 15 years. For me it has held only 18 months. And, although I have used in a Kellerrraum, in which the light is not very often lit long.
Each cheap bulb from a hardware store has a longer life.
So: Hands off.
