1. There is a video light on board (in practice, because more and more people with the DSLR / SLT films).
2. The flash fits directly to the new ISO-shoe, the Sony A58 and A99 have.
However, this also means that it does not fit directly to most Sony Alpha cameras (A37, A57, A65, etc.) that still have the old Sony / Minolta port. One can easily use the flash but also with these cameras, if you dazuerwirbt the "ADP-AMA shoe adapter" from Sony, which is available for 28 Euro at Sony.
The flash comes with pocket and walk. On these you can ask him if you want to trigger it by remote detonation. Although the remote trigger is "WL flash" works, but not by radio. Instead the flash is triggered by the built-in camera flash, which must be expanded to (which I had not understood before and wondered why it did not work).
The flash can be anything that your heart desires (incl. HSS and stroboscopic flashes). He has over the third-party flashes (about Metz or Nissin) also has the advantage that Sony already in the camera software ensures that the flash fires. The flash itself does not need a firmware update.
In addition to the video light (whose usefulness is more manageable) is particularly Quickshift awesome. Which is important if you want to flash indirectly to the ceiling to evenly illuminate an area (try it, the difference with the built-in flash is immense). That goes with every flash, as long as you hold the camera horizontally. But want to make edge-photos, other lightning on a side wall, furniture, etc. in addition to the camera are directed. This often leads to shadows cast and color distortion. Sony simply rotated 90 degrees and flashes continue at the ceiling. With other flashes have to use WL for flash or connect the flash by cable. Both are quite uncomfortable and time-consuming.
The flash works with four AA batteries, making it very thick in combination with the quick shift mechanism. The weight, however, is within the normal range.
I currently have a Nissin Di 622Mark II, which does not even cost half and for most things is just as good. But without Quickshift. After I looked at the Sony Life, I flirtatious now violently so. Nearly 300 euros for a flash (EIA even almost 400) but are also quite a pretty penny. Actually too much. For a point deduction for an otherwise great product.
