The Cube I have connected to my router and it was immediately reached by the program within my home network.
The range of the connection between the Cube and the thermostat is unexpectedly good. Even by 3 walls (with doors) through the connection can be established.
Bundled software for the PC is in the features now offered simple and intuitive to use. It may be there is a "program" for the entire system set up by specifying for each thermostat in a weekly program, when to set which temperature in the room. The operation and the programming will be central to the PC instead, the data is stored on the thermostat but by radio. Therefore, the PC for the actual operation of the system does not run. With the ECO button you can without PC between program mode and an adjustable ECO temperature back and forth which is handy if, for example leaves home spontaneously for a long time. The Cube has but (logically) for these functions basically "online" so be on the current router is connected, since it is the interface for all traffic.
Wishes, criticism, potentials:
Up to this point I could give it 5 points without problems. The hardware and its implementation is really great. But the software is not properly thought through and requires of ELV further developments you want to exhaust the full potential, because actually could save with something at steadily rising energy prices much money almost every household.
- PC program:
It is not able to be created just 1 weekly program.
I am a consultant and sometimes the whole week at home, sometimes only on weekends and sometimes not, etc. I would naturally like to create for such cases for each "Lebenssitutation" its own program, which I can then call up and use each. Since this is not possible, I have now every time my "week stay at home" changes reprogram all 10 valves. This is of course very unfortunate and very umständlich.Ich can I not imagine that this function for different weekly programs can be very complicated now, but I'm definitely not the only one who can do this and that for a long time, but does not respond ELV ,
- The app for my iPad / iPhone
The app is corrupt and runs unfortunately only from time to time. Again and again, I get the message, the MAX Gateway is not connected. This occurs mainly when the home PC is switched off (which is logical if I am not at home, because only then I need the app .....) Every now and then it goes but, so is probably simply the way worm in it in the app.
If the app will run times, there can be change for individual rooms the temperatures, which of course is always great because you can do it almost anywhere in the world. You can do this temporarily or permanently. There you can switch to the program operation again. A change in the program is not provided. I think it would be better if you could also access DynDNS and then through the browser the same user interface would have at home. That would work on the iPad, iPhone or any of its supporting surface. Something I have on my 50 Euro Chinese IP cameras which I call alarm system for my house and use ....
Summary:
Great hardware, great idea, works quite well but on the software, there is still significant potential for improvement and development.
ELV could make a lot of money because the system virtually almost every household may need. Other providers are significantly more expensive and / or the hardware is less well (eg RWE System). It should, however, have gotten around that nowadays besides a functioning hardware, especially the quality of the software for the success of a product is relevant (see iPhone, iPad, etc.). For me incomprehensible is the sluggish approach of ELV because my points have also called for tens of other users. That's like taking out the speed on the last 3 meters of a 100 meter run ......
Expansion potential:
If the story with the controls is also in software "round", this system of course, other options
- A remote-controlled socket. This could be, for example, control the circulation pump of the heating system (needs rel. A lot of power and if the radiators are anyway turned down might leave the pump for example, run 15 minutes per hour. With the socket could remotely control the washing machine or other electrical consumers ( coffee maker, rice cooker, electric. heating, air conditioning in summer, etc.)

Winter is now actually almost over and the MAX! System has done a very good services. There were no failures, only the new release of the software, there were briefly problems (the IP address of the cube has not noticed) that could be fixed but with a new installation.
Depending on the living conditions significant energy savings potentials are possible. So the system is not only the purse but also the environment.
Lt. ELV it is about the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2013 a switched outlet for the MAX! Giving system, which would correspond to my aforementioned request very.
The software is still the only real weak point, since it is not possible still to save various program profiles. Incomprehensible as this so now is the real meaning of such a networked system that you can adjust it sometimes quickly ..... 5 points there only if the software can save various program profiles.
Incidentally, the plastic mounting screws have so far been no trouble. It may be that, but also depends on the type of valve cores of the radiator. In my case, none of the included adapter for mounting is necessary, but the valve controller fit as supplied to the valve inserts my radiator (Heimeyer) and tight absolutely.

The system is now running for a little more than 1 year with me. I'm still very happy that I have invested in the system. The setting at home as well as on my iPad on the move works fine. Meanwhile, I have the system to a switch socket expanded with the remote I steer hot water on my gas heater ..
The batteries of the components are still functional.
The only thing that bothers me still is the software. Still can not save different profiles can be entered. There was already longer no more software update, I am afraid that the manufacturer has been "checked" the system. Too bad .... The system could use any. It is a practical contribution to the environment and for your wallet. Why the manufacturer no longer makes of it is incomprehensible to me.

Another heating season is over, the system still works as it should. I have at no time regretted the purchase. The batteries are now already 1.5 years old but I had to replace no.

Another year saved with the money system. Meanwhile, I have installed the software 1.4.2. It is constructed much easier for me and fulfilled its purpose. The identical appearance I have on my Apple iPad App. So I can also influence the move my heating.
The first I had to replace the batteries now, which I had also expected. But Strangely, I had not subsequently re-register the devices to the cube. Nice !!
I had a problem with the time in between the cube, because I had no access to him. I thought the cube would be broken but in the end it was the fact that most of the server for a few days did not work with the manufacturer.
ELV has another system in the program for this heating control is only one of several functions. The components look completely identical to the MAX! System. Unfortunately, they are not compatible because they communicate at a different frequency. A great pity, because if you the MAX! System has one wishes for more and more other things to be able to remotely control the House. About the heating addition, MAX! only the switching outlet.
