All hits of pop era are content naturally represented by Genesis, but beyond that also many songs that you have not so often get in the form of notes to face, such as more complex pieces like "Robbery, Assault And Battery" or "One For The Vine ".
Unfortunately, I realized quickly that the quality of the piano reductions in many cases not much successful than the previous Songbooks. Particularly annoying I find that just the interesting instrumental passages longer compositions were often left out simply, so as the grandiose keyboard solo from "Fading Lights" (which only makes it worth listening to, in my opinion the song). Also missing wide passages in "Cinema Show", "Robbery, Assault And Battery", "Firth Of Fifth" uva - incomprehensible in my eyes, because, for example, the long and sometimes equally complex keyboard solos of "Second Home By The Sea" and "In The Cage" are notated exemplary.
Praiseworthy are some very successful piano arrangements mentioned, which can already played at sight pay the typical Genesis flair, such as "Heathaze" and "Man On The Corner".
Overall, this Anthology leaves so a streaky impression: 40-50% of the pieces are very good arranged for piano, the rest just as much as possible. You can tell that someone has made an effort. Unfortunately, there are many arrangements that are then this does not do justice to quality and you have the impression that the arrangers ran out of patience and care here ...
It should nevertheless be all those who simply want time for little money have a truly comprehensive collection of Genesis notes, this songbook is strongly recommended, because despite these criticisms are the arrangements for the "Otto-Normal-keyboardist" more than useful!
