for HP Z24i I decided, because I was looking for a monitor - if dimmed - not flicker.
The reason for the new acquisition was the following problem:
In my previous flat-screen TFT (three years old) has one as seen no flicker (due to the high frequency), but it was actually available. Over time, had in fact been found in this, that it strained my eyes and me restless / made nervous by prolonged labor.
Eventually I realized the effect then look in the monitor after a short time.
Undimmed this was too bright against the environment - that made the one hand, tired - and dimmed, I realized that there is something there that causes stress. After long research I came out that it is probably due to the PWM dimming of the LCD backlight.
That's why I looked for an alternative, which without PWM via constant current so dims continuously light (flickering) emits.
The selection of devices was not particularly large. I chose the Z24i, which I bought about a year ago half.
I was with regard to a short time of the class processing, ergonomics. Adjustment and optical properties very pleasantly surprised.
The thing with the stress I observed initially very critical to make sure that the new purchase really worth.
I chose, depending on the time of day and an ambient light brightness adjustment between 0% and 25%. The 25% are in my case, on the day against indirect window light quite bright. In the evening, usually between 0-10%. The 100% are well designed for outdoor work :-)
The eyes thank one such adjustment. And since I have now been several hours to later gearbeit hour 'before this monitor and noticed no more stress reaction I can in good conscience say yes the feature with the flicker dimming is very much value!
In summary:
+ Very easy on the eyes (you should also the brightness of the ambient light to adjust) and stress-free!
+ Ergonomics: height adjustment and tilt angle
+ Good optical qualities: relatively uniform illumination, quite natural colors already in default setting, yet brilliant
+ High-quality workmanship
+ Ingegrierter USB hub with its own power even in standby, I find very useful
- I miss an automatic (adaptive) Heliggkeitsanpassung around by light sensor. Too bad, that would be the icing on the cake!
The purchase, I am glad no day regret, it is worth the money.
