I have the original used the last 4 years on the D700 battery grip and am an appropriate feel and quality usual. Now, with my new D800, I dared because of the reviews, try this "cheap product", and am very pleasantly surprised. After 3 outdoor shoots with lots of action and about 3600 images, I can say that there was no moment when I would have found a difference to work with the D700 / original handle. The only thing that I had adjusted in advance was that I had parts of Accuschlittens easy "thickened" with gaffer tape, so that it fits snugly in the guide. That was all. Otherwise, I have an impeccable appearance (looks absolutely and feels like a Nikon original), have a snug fit without play, and a perfect function (release button has the same for my feeling tactile feedback as to the camera), and for approximately 25 % (!!!!) of what Nikon calls. So I have the same benefits without any compromises, and pay a quarter of the price. There are of my full 5 star, including why so Nikon maybe the high-price policy of the accessory over thinking something.
