That was also the reason why I have decided for the Cherry INFINITY. For some, the extra buttons may be only superfluous bells and whistles, but if one has first used the advantages of volume, multimedia and the calculator button of Cherry Cymotion series, one would not want to miss this.
The keyboard has a crisp, precise keystrokes. The keys are guided via a quality scissor mechanism and put not only on a "sliding bearing" into the case as with cheap keyboards usual. The Anschlagweg is pleasantly short, which manifests itself at least with me in a slightly higher write speed noticeable. The keys are large areas and therefore to make intuitive and easy for me when blind ten fingers. However, the transitions between the keys can thus slightly heavier sensing.
The keys for volume control (silent, silent, loud) and multimedia player operation (load, play / pause, next) are sunk in the area of the ball of the thumb. The keys have a much harder pressure point so that an unintentional faulty operation is virtually impossible.
The function keys F1 - F12 are now directly to each other, this may many a perhaps irritate. But since I anyway hardly use these keys, this is of no consequence to me. At the end of the F-key row, there is another function button, the media player button. Here leaves the default Windows Media Player Start. (How to adapt them below).
Above the number pad is found four more practical special keys: calculator, email, home and standby.
The keyboard is of course recognized by Windows even without any driver installation immediately and also the special keys do their job. However, I would still recommend to install the Cherry Keyman software, as there are still a lot to be optimized.
Who, for example, as I do not want to use the Windows Media Player but an old but slim Winamp version, and start them on the special keys, should proceed as follows:
In Keyman the Media Player button mapped to the winamp.exe. And not player buttons (load, play / pause, next) Preassign in the Keyman software specifically for Winamp, but select in the Keyman software for all three buttons as follows: No action (default) - (Then you still can that is still with the keys the Windows Media Player control, this example if you use for watching videos). But but in Winamp activate under Global Tastenküzel uncheck "Enable support for global multimedia keys".
Now you can call up with the pressure on the media player button and control Winamp player with the keys.
Another problem can be even with the Keyman software fix: If you press the Mail button without Keyman software, opens in my case Outlook. Pressing this a second time, you open another instance of Outlook without having to switch to the first, already open instance. To avoid this simply be in Keyman Configuration after progams looking, here Outlook is detected. Then simply select the button "Free assignment" and press "New". In the window that appears just select "email programs" and press OK. Now opens with the first pressure Outlook, and if it is already open, press the program brings into focus, rather than multiple windows open.

ADDENDUM:
I now had the Infinity a few days in use, and have it now but sent back and exchanged for a Cherry EASYHUB.
Here's why:
- The Left Ctrl key was, at least in my keyboard, built so close to the frame of the keyboard that when you press the button every time has hooked to the frame. Since this was only apparently the case with me, I start from a single issue, not a series of errors. Since I have been working quite a lot with keyboard shortcuts, and the Ctrl key very often use it was very cumbersome if the key is stuck.
- What, however, has really bothered me for some time, and The main reason was that I did not again taken me an infinity but a EASYHUB was that Tastur although itself is very flat, but the framework in the area of the ball of the thumb but still ca is. 6 mm thick. Since the multimedia keys are located in the palm rest, this palm rest is slightly longer than normal Tasturen. The result is that my hands (I have relatively small hands and short fingers) lie exactly with the heel of your hand on the edge, which has led to some time to numbness in his hand. The Cherry EASYHUB has a longer wrist rest and so are my hands comfortably on the silver plastic part without encountering an edge.
The key action mechanism and the associated characteristics such as key travel, tactile and sound of EASYHUB is identical to the Infinity. Although EASYHUB is not such a looker like the Infinity but due to the larger palm rest much more ergonomic.
