"Sagas" second volume is quite leisurely compared to its predecessor. It assiert not much and thin in the first volume plot occurs here even something on the spot, in favor of some nice character moments and flashbacks.
Is that bad?
Not really, it reads still good, because the author Vaughan there continue his characters (especially female) understands how to create a fun-trashy spell after another into his mouth, while looking forward to the next crazy idea has to offer this universe well. Of these there are in Band 2 but much less what probably pure restraint, because lack of ideas of the author is owed. At best, you could say that Vaughan after the events of the first band tried some order into his imaginative universe or bring initially something would hold back before then to draw in band 3 (hopefully) again from the solid.
This idea has definitely more than the idea that Vaughan just piece by piece the best ideas preigibt so he would have to come up with anything new for months.
However, Fiona Staples continues unabated on the height, draws beautiful Aliens, ugly monsters and bizarre sets like no other and further with so nice bright colors, as they are s rarely seen in comics. The optics carrying the story thus continues unabated, even if the narrative aspect as I said is weakening slightly.
Volume 2 is still "good", but it is hoped that it again preceded in Volume 3 with full force, because of the madness of his premise draws Saga (in addition to the soap-elements), too much of his fascination.
