I liked the lightness mixture of fantasy, but also depth of this book. Indeed, there has 2 levels in this novel: 1, entertaining, which portrays a very likeable character, crazy soft and incorrigible optimist at the extraordinary obstinacy, who dreams of integrating all costs in his new homeland to forget the horrors of the past. Resulting a good nature, funny scenes (not always very realistic but we forgive) and a very tasty fantasy. The 2nd level pleasantly surprises with its depth: the book really wonders about identity, memory, transmission, dual culture, integration (not always easy if despite all efforts the other insists on not to agree), how to continue to live after the unspeakable ... A very original and endearing as Jack book.
