Positives:
- Aluminum frame looks chic and feels dibasic.
- Activity per disk
- Speed of the hard drives is not slowed down (at least not recognizable)
Ok:
- Hard drives are easy to fit and remove, but without clear tactile feedback as to whether they are seated properly
- PSU sits externally
- White plastic cover feels a bit cheap to, especially the spring mechanism for the flap over the hard drive slots.
- A previous model had an old firmware, so that thus formatted hard drives not playing together with other docks. The amount sent software for firmware update did not work as expected. The manufacturer has even taken care of the firmware update by sending in the docks. The Porto returned to the factory I had to wear themselves.
Negatives:
- Regularly problems when mounting the panels. However, this may well be due to Apple's USB drivers. Hard to say why this is, at the dock or the MBP. Problem "solution": plate, wait, try again. Often the plates are detected at the first attempt, but then it can sometimes take a dozen attempts. Annoying.
