Got the Dockinstation bought because I have a great memory and otherwise external USB large capacity hard drives still require an external power supply. This meant that 5 external hard drives with 5 (partly different) power supplies standing around, not to be silent from the chaos with the USB ports.
The docking station can be "naked" hard drives simply plug in the hole at the top, transfer data, eject, see etc .. quickly and easily. Besides large 3.5 "hard drives can also be 2.5" hard drives use. The internal controller supports hard disks up to a size of 3 Terabytes. Larger hard drives I have at the moment not in use and can I therefore do not even try. Would buy the unit again and recommend it unreservedly!
