1. Delivery
The result is a USB flash drive with cap, battery and holder for wall (tape, screws) + CD.
After delivery you have to insert the battery (small LED lights up briefly).
2. Stick
The small USB stick is very handy and can be put down or fixed everywhere
3. Function
The LOG32 speichtert at various intervals, the temperature (-40 ° C to 70 ° C) and Luftfeuchtigkkeit. A record is 32KB in size, and you can max. 32,000 records / store measuring points.
4. Installation
a) Win XP: Insert the CD, click Setup and finish. Insert USB flash drive, the PC recognizes the drive and automatically installs the drivers from the CD:
b) Win 7 (64bit): Insert the CD and install setup. With me were 2 errors (Thumbs file missing - ignore!), But that was unimportant. A Thumbsdatei created Windows also himself (for thumbnails).
Insert the USB stick, then look for Windows online for drivers (no matter). Then open the CD (Explorer) and go to the ENGLISH folder where the drivers are (Drivers). Double-USBexpress and install.
Then remove the USB flash drive and plug it again, then the driver will be assigned to the new device.
Now you have to click the Software DATALOGGER and can adjust the values. To save the (expensive) battery, you should adjust the flashing 30 sec..
5. Programming.
In the software mask (Link - settings) can be adjusted only slightly, but what completely enough: Number of measurement data, intervals and limits for alarm values. The intervals are set as desired,
2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2, 3, 6, 12 or 24 ... anything is possible.
To test the room temperature's bedroom, I leave every 10 minutes to save the values.
For shipping in refrigerated packages I have every 30 minutes the data is stored.
One can also alarm values storing once these limits are exceeded (eg. Humidity) and, the USB stick is flashing red ..
To start the measurement, you have to press the small button (alternatively you can start with programming Select).
6. Data read.
The recording of temperatures ends when all measurement points are stored. So if I click 100 measurement points every 60 sec (1 min), the values to be saved, the data stick for 100 min completed (but not full) and ends the work. While the data is stored, the green LED (every 30 seconds) flashes to indicate that is measured.
To read the data, you must connect the drive again via USB to the PC and open the software. Then you click on the first symbol (Datenloger read), so that the values are transferred. Now you can view the temperature and humidity development in a diagram and save any.
If you prefer to continue editing the data itself, can save the measured values as Excel table. For this you click on a file Save As ... and click the file format to XLS (Ex.).
7. Conclusion
For the price of 62 you get certainly elsewhere several thermometers or weather stations, but no device is that such temperature developments and stores.
From the measured values, the software also calculates the dew point (condensation development at the appropriate temperature and humidity), just for the winter is the interesting (mildew, cold spots).
The battery will keep 2 years, a new cost around 5 (special form).
For me, the LOG32 is exactly what I was looking for. The simple operation with a long running time convinced me.
