First, I was surprised by the weight of the package. In fact, it is not a very cheap plastic acting part. The LabelWriter 450 is chic and therefore stands firmly on the table.
From unpacking to first printed label went almost 15 minutes. In these 15 minutes, the automatic update of the driver was included (I'm working with a PC, not a Mac).
The Quickstart description reads fluently and logically. The enclosed rolls with the labels are wrapped in black foil on which not printed the size or otherwise as apparent. However, the roles with their label on the box are displayed. One can compare the dimensions with which any problem on the package based on the size of the rolls. If you still want to measure with a ruler: a lot of fun. :-)
For the first test I've printed out the three corresponding label sizes and those glued to the packaging of the rolls.
It has been criticized that the enclosed, small labels can be either barcode or printed blank. This is simply wrong. You can also print the label size as everyone else.
The menu is self-explanatory. All one needs is the dimension of the descriptive label. If you have chosen the appropriate template, you can choose between printing templates and your own design. Especially with the big labels is so much space that company logo, QR code, website, address and can accommodate more readable. QR codes smaller than postage stamp size are printed razor sharp and are easily scan, or unreadable.
The LabelWriter prints quickly. Very pleasant.
For my small company I have to merge with / from Excel is not required. Should this be the case at some point, I will report it here.
Conclusion: for the price, the speed and sharpness Highly Recommended.
