First of all I want to mention that my review is a comparison with the iPad 1 in the first place.
First the positive:
- The device itself is by its thinner form well in the hand and also the lower weight is noticeable.
Unfortunately, that's it what I have to report to pluses.
Now to the criticisms:
- The first thing I stabbed after turning the eye was a clearly visible pixel errors in the middle of the display. This is bright white, and thus visible at all times in everything you just doing with the device. One can imagine how annoying it is! Unfortunately, I have learned from various sources that a single pixel error is no reason for a complaint.
- The built-in cameras do not deserve its name. My 5 year old mobile phone (Nokia N73) makes better photos and videos. While the cameras were already previously criticized in all test reports, but so bad I did not expect. Since Apple has clearly saved at the wrong end.
- The faster processor has not yet been really noticeable during everyday use for me. Perhaps this is more noticeable in more demanding applications / games, but apparently I use not such.
Conclusion:
Commendable but the significantly improved sensitivity for iPad is 1. The device is thinner, lighter and even the annoying bulbous back is past. Everything else is virtually identical to its predecessor.
4-4.5 stars would be certainly appropriate for the iPad 2, similar to the iPad 1. The pixel error is for me, however, an extreme flaw is (especially with a possibly resale), so I can only awarded 3 stars.
Anyone used to the idea an iPad plays zuzulegen who should have recourse to the still available and now considerably cheaper iPad 1 or wait for the 3rd generation.
Supplements 17.05.
Just as I took my iPad 2 in hand, could be heard a distinct crack. The search for the origin of the noise showed that the bottom of the device (in the area of the home button) triggers the display of the bottom. An approximately 0.5 mm wide gap is opening up, the times caused when lifting the iPads each a scary cracking. I am thrilled genuine. Either I caught a Monday device, or with the quality it is not far from Apple here. And since this is already the second serious deficiency, I honestly have no more desire to keep the part. For the first time I'm really disappointed with an Apple device. My Review I have now changed from 3 stars to 1 star. And at least for my device it is still too much !!!
