The presentation is upscale in a black box with a picture of the speaker and the red logos and accents.
Open the drawer and the speaker is protected in a foam entourage. Below this are two cables, micro USB charging cable and a 3.5mm audio micro USB lead. A well written manual is also provided.
When you lift the speaker, you can feel how well done it is. It has a reassuring weight, metal construction with a central rubber ring on which the controls are mounted.
Behind a flap there is a micro-USB port and a SD (TF) slot for micro replay music.
A full charge takes 2.5 hours, after which I connected the speaker via the audio cable. Voice guidance is provided to the various modes.
The sound immediately impressed me with amazing bass for the size. It's hard to believe such a full comes from such a compact unit. Midrange and treble are also excellent.
"The Girl from Ipanema" with Astrud Gilberto looked great. The character of the lead voice has been preserved beautifully, superb sax solo by Stan Getz had bite and projection and guitar and rhythm section provided a perfect backdrop.
The powerful drum beats Richard Burmer of "A History of the rain" had incredible power. Hold the speaker in my hand I could really feel the force! Atmospheric synth washes were reproduced very well.
Pairing Bluetooth was easy on my smartphone and the Bluetooth transmitter. The sound quality is excellent and the beach was well over 15 meters and even through the intermediate walls.
The reading Micro SD also looked great. The quality was equal to wired input. "Abacus Moon" by Don Harriss had good beats and a lot of impact.
It is a wonderful speaker. I can not recommend it highly enough! Polaris Well done!
