What was not in any Forum: The radio has an ISO connector for the antenna plug. The Astra has yet to DIN.
So it's also an adapter for 2 from emergencies (also 50 Ohm - called> 150 Ohm At least, on the packaging of my.).
If you have no steering wheel controls and one is satisfied with the radio display, that's it, and the device can be installed.
Now to the device itself:
There was nothing to be found on the package, I hope hereby to help others:
The manual is printed in many languages, also German was intended.
The enclosed caddy needs only to be postponed, this is still a rubber cap and a screw (as spacers?) Here, which I have not used (contrary to the instructions), because the device already so completing only 99.5% with the shaft. To remove are currently 2 catch here.
To use: Very intuitive! all multiple assignments are either recorded or obviously the knob.
Radio reception: no worse than with the original radio (which I felt to be very good) but far better than with an older Sony from the same price range that I used in a Corsa B. Especially the noise reduction works well here.
What do I need to complain about anyway: When changing to a station (via the preset buttons), which is very poorly received, then examined the tuner quite some time until it finds any signal that is strong enough (but then nevertheless very noisy is ). Since the only occurs when the transmitter is practically not be received anyway, it does not interfere :)
MP3 / CD: Not yet tested.
USB: I use a Intenso Microline 8GB stick. Works perfectly acceptable and quickly. No dropouts, except when starting the engine because it will be read (about 5sec), although it also runs the Zündungsan already.
Through the one-line display, one should remember / write down which are the folders on the radio, so you quickly find what you are looking for the number. The folder name (if set) appears after approx 2-3sekunden when changing.
Sound: outstanding! The equalizer presets (Rock, Pop, etc.) may be supplemented by the manual bass / treble equalizer yet. I was disappointed at first when I asked at the first hearing on FLAT and have then played around with the bass and treble.
On ROCK (mE the best Preset) but full utilization of the series speaker range: D
I am surprised how well are yet, although it is the standard system in the model.
Those looking for extreme bass should purchase an external subwoofer and another radio company (eg the 117er of Alpine, which has functions and corresponding outputs for).
Because I'm spoiled something sound technically, it is again a confirmation that the sound is not of 24bit / MOSFET or other effective advertising slogans depends. High-quality components such as in this Alpine doing an equivalent job.
As you know, where the remained 90 :)
I would recommend this basic model of Alpine recommend to all those who value good radio reception and get the best possible sound from their series speaker system want, without any frills and conversions.
