My taste often leads me to the Anglo-Saxon literature to French classics, which I assume perfectly, but I had a vague feeling that my ignorance was not me honor. As I appreciate the tone and humor of Jean d'Ormesson, I immersed myself in that "another story" and if I do not necessarily share the enthusiasm of the author at the location of all writers he has chosen, I have to say I had a great time with him and that made me want to (re) discover some French authors in the duster a little.
