ARCTIC F8 PRO PWM PST - Ultra quiet PWM controlled 80mm case fan with unique anti-vibration system & PST terminal (PWM Sharing Technology) (Personal Computers)
After many years of tests with several fans of multiple manufacturers I have found a convincing and yet also preisgüstigen fan! The former fans who were all in the dimensions 80x80 are never really silent running, despite a fan regulation for speed reduction as more and a humming noise (purring) was heard what had sounded even louder when not decoupling from the housing. In the Arctic fans, the designers have even really what genius thought up "aufzugehängen" the fan in rubber straps, so as to absorb the vibrations! A self-hum of the fan, I could not perceive as with so many other fan manufacturers. Man only but also to listen to the air flow only at full speed. The fan is already running on from 5V. It is available in several versions. As a 3-pin version or as a 4-pin PWM version "easy" or Pro version with PST (Sharing Technology) for cascading of up to max. 5 Fan the all speed-controlled via a connection running from the motherboard from! Brilliant!
PRO: - Absolutely quiet fan, no hum or noise Schnurr - More fans cascaded using only one PWM connector - Has been going on from 5 volts
Cons: - Can only be mounted in a flow direction (air flow to the outside, inside mounted) Alternative: installation from the outside air flow inwards - Height 34mm (thickness, depth) -> more than conventional fan standards of 20mm
I can only recommend, who want to build a really quiet system!
