Finally a strong wireless at home

First of all:

I used my floors (family house) with a Fritz box 7390, a repeater Edimax N300 and Asus router with DD-WRT firmware developed as an extender. But it was never the yellow of the egg. The connection has always annoyed me. Even at 5 meters distance between FritzBox and Repeater (N300) I could not reasonably 1080p stream to my AppleTV.
The price of the Apple AirPort Extreme is high and had previously always put me off. Normal Airport with AC power and this would really enough for me, but there is not unfortunately.

Installation and commissioning:

Simply "easy". I am what routers, computers, etc. As for fairly fit and have always used a lot to play around with the stuff until it all "ok" ran. With AirPort Extreme, it is so simple that it already contributes almost to the amusement ;-)
Unwrapped, connected to a LAN cable to the WAN port and have plunged the part in AirPort Utility (Mac / iPhone / iPad, etc.). I have forgiven only private WPA2 password and that's it. After a few days I simply times turned off the WLAN of the Fritz box and was speechless. I had perfect reception anywhere. The AirPort is now in the living room and even 1080p streams to the upper floor to the ATV is not a problem!

Conclusion:

Super strong wireless for unfortunately a lot of money. But in my opinion there is hardly comparable. I have tried many things.

ADDENDUM (the Airport Extreme is also Telekom Entertain compatible):

If an entertainer Receiver (Telekom Entertain) are used, the following notice!

I have / had since today is also the problem with the IGMP v3 or multicast flooding of the network by the receiver and entertainers have found a solution!
AirPort Extreme offers in Airport Utility Option "Network" -> "Network Options" -> Enable IGMP Snooping. Simply activate and the network or the Airport Extreme now works again with activated Entertain receiver!
