I have received an Acer Aspire One D257 (AOD257) who was stinklangsam despite ATOM dual-core (2 x 1.66GHz + 2 hyperthreads).
Although I have put 7 Starter 32Bit using the Recovery partition back to its delivery Windows and manually removed all have what is installed with Acer recovery as ballast, making the netbook ständing memorial breaks.
A look at the memory revealed that 1 GB is clearly too little. So I searched for a cheap 2GB retrofit memory. (Actually, I wanted to 4GB, but the ACE D257 is supposed to manage only max. 2 GB).

Installation instructions in brief:
- Remove battery
- To remove the keyboard I have used thin membership card from Michelin. I have the card carefully in the area of ​​the function keys (F1 - F12) introduced and could then fold out the keyboard. The ribbon I drangelassen.
Note: The keyboard has lugs in the SPACE key. Therefore, there does not try to fold up the keyboard!

- Now you can already see the built-in memory card that is locked with 2 brackets.
