Since I had to be bridged to the computer from the router in my apartment about 50m², a good data throughput was Pflcht. In addition, I have also placed emphasis on optics and a 2-port connection, because I did not want to have to buy a switch to (of price and's Optical reasons).
Previously, I had tested numerous models with 200 Mbit / s and was always unhappy for different reasons.
Devolo was expensive and the adapter very large. Also from Netgear, I first bought the 200 Mbit / s version, as it was to see a lot of reviews and tests that the difference was not large and the charge to 500 Mbit / s was not worth.
However, I have had the experience that I have rarely achieved with my 200 Mbit / s devices a good data throughput and often blinking LEDs for mediocre throughput.
This changed when I "520" bought the Adpater of AVM. So I've had a long-term stable data throughput for the first time. Since this adapter, however, only have a LAN connection, I let go back and decided on the above Netgear kit.
The installation was very simple in principle, but I would the safety of the adapter with the - make good software, if everything is connected - I think.
The data throughput is excellent with me. That I have no loss of quality on the computer, even though I'm sitting a few rooms away from the router. We have a 50 Mbit / s Internet line and coming loss at about the adapter!
In addition, the adapter from Netgear are a great visual impact, because they are not big and are very unobtrusive (especially in comparison to the products of devolo and AVM).
I am glad that I chose for 2-port adapter, because I can easily make all my networkable devices weave into a home network without an additional switch or having to buy more powerline.
After I have therefore searched for weeks, read and tested, I can only guess at purchasing considerations to look at:
- Performance (throughput) -> also definitely 500 MBit / s buy if a little more distance needs to be bridged
- Integrated socket -> is definitely mandatory because one power cuts off when the adapter into a

- Select a minimum 2-port adapter to (even later) to remain flexible
I hope to be able to help some of my review one or the other. As an overall result, I can the 500 series from Netgear (just the three set out preilslichen reasons) Share unrestricted.
