In conventional non-adjustable switches have to drive manually or almost always dictated the direction of travel in electric-powered locomotives (only some points sometimes offer surprises).
The only downside is that when passing over the switch of "the other" side (to the two outputs) ago derailed locomotives sometimes when they enter as it were wrong (So put differently as the switch), but not always.
