The firmware, although already several updates were automatically plays with (alleged) improvements (easily over Wi-Fi) is simply an absolute impertinence. Philips sets forth yes no TV and no longer has any shares in the TV business. Previously, the brand was an insider tip for televisions. That seems to be over! Admittedly, the software is very extensive and complex. But that does not justify that the basic functions are so flawed. Not only that the switching times and the menu features rare act slowly, the TV hangs occasionally and also takes longer for an internal automatic reboot. One might think that he was technically physically defective and had breathed his life. Initially it was very irritating and it was believed (pull the plug!) A cold start to have to make. No, it is sufficient to wait a few (too long) minutes, then the system automatically starts again. Would not the superior picture quality and feature Ambilight, I would dispose of the device with an ax. It remains the hope that any future update finally fixes the flaws. The Amazon Prime video offer can not be used with Philips TVs! Too bad! Hope dies last. The satellite receiver is indeed HD-compatible but will not transponder / transmitter, showing the external satellite receiver without any problems (Blind Scan). Even a manual input of the transmitter parameters is fruitless, the practice cumbersome and confusing. Whether the automatic station search for the blind scan process runs is not apparent. Slowly after another competing device I think about it (Samsung or Panasonic, etc.) to buy and continue to use the Philips TV only passive (external receiver with HD functionality) as time / third device in the house.
Those who want to save trouble and frustration, this device (47 inch screen) does not buy in spite of its superior image and sound quality in its price segment. No recommendation! Would I buy despite Ambilight not again!
