WMF 1000 pro for about 2,700 euros
Jura Z5 (depending on model) from approx 2,200 euros
For me, the most important criteria were (in order of severity):
- Easy to clean
- Several coffees at your fingertips
- Good design
I was on the issue off 2,700 euros for the WMF ... but already in the preselection I noticed the many positive reviews for DeLonghi ESAM 6600 on its predecessor. The often-mentioned criticism that no latte macchiato glasses fit under it has been fixed in this follow-up model. And to download the user manual and comparison with the WMF was obvious that the cleaning is even simpler than with WMF. And that is already great and much better than in Jura. In addition, the quality and service in comparison to the previous model has been further improved upon.
So I bought the DeLonghi. My experience after many hundreds of cups of coffee (coffee, espresso, latte macchiato, cappuccino):
Cleaning is without any chemicals! Once a week I suck out the interior of, holding the removable brewing unit under running warm! Water and rinse the milk container with all accessories. After dispensing milk provided for eight seconds Cleaning ranges from hot steam and you can put the milk container back in the fridge. That's how it should be.
Operation is intuitive and easy. Design is a matter of taste - I think it's great and beyond it is very space-saving.
And the coffee specialties are all super. The crema of good beans is that really the sugar stays short time lying on the crema. Wow! All specialties with milk (1.5% fat) without any problem whatsoever. In very rare cases it is necessary to fix the milk container a second time so that the milk is foamed well. TIP: Before milk reference only by chasing the 8 seconds steam.
In short: For me, the best machine on the market and in comparison to competitors even above "low".
