What do the good old men, they talk about the album and the single almost did not, one hears often of a blues album and similarities to Violator or Songs of Faith and Devotion, and then comes the first single Heaven out. Ahead you can hear what the 70's rock, you do not know what to expect and then the rock / pop ballad Heaven comes. At first I was frankly disappointed, but not about the song Heaven but in that one has first single brought out a ballad. I thought somehow still missing the firecrackers, announcing: Here are Depeche Mode and soon appears Delta machine. In the end, it was a wrong thinking. Heaven is a great song, something was missing in the Depeche Mode single collection, Dave Gahan's vocals are absolutely perfect and fits like Martin Gore always wonderful to.
The B Side like it just as well as Heaven. The funny thing is that of course Depeche Mode wiedermal all rumführt nose. The sound is similar to Martin Gore solo project VCMG, a more minimalist techno sound with a dry, somber Gahan singing ... I like the complete opposite, and somehow I feel at the 2005 recalls, as it was with Precious and Free nearly identical. If the album can keep the level of Playing the Angel, I am very satisfied, Depeche Mode is and remains for me the best band in the world ... whether with a ballad or a I Feel You ...
