These criteria I have numerous devices and viewed reviews. Especially much I have been involved with the China Tablets that are currently pushing increasingly also on the German market. After considering all the process / counterpoint, I have finally decided on the ASUS Memo Pad (worst competitor although finally the TrekStor Surftab Ventos 10.1). The following reasons have led me to this decision:
- With 299 euros just in the price frame
- A renowned manufacturer, so probably good support and fast Android updates
- Good quality of workmanship
- Very good performance (Tegra 3 platform for my purposes perfectly adequate)
- Excellent battery performance
- Standard microUSB port for charging
The China-Tablets sound of the specification ago very tempting, but I had serious doubts bezgl here. The quality of workmanship and the Android update cycles. In addition, almost there is no support in case of problems. Even the TrekStor I reported due to workmanship rejected the net. The pure hardware would have been enough for me.
The tablet has been delivered, as always quickly and easily through Amazon and corresponds fully to my expectations so far. The performance is excellent and the battery life seems to be stabilizing at about 8 hours of normal use. In addition, the Android 4.2 update is announced for Q2 2013 via press release by Asus already.
In my view, the tablet is almost identical to the Asus TF300. I have not decided on the TF300 since I do not need and reached the Tablet End-of-life, the keyboard dock has (probability of updates drops).
So I can summarize recommend this tablet because it "is my personal price / performance winner in the category" 10 "tablet to 300.
Update from 22/03/2013:
It seems to be even-Fi 802.11n support in the 5GHz band, as I reach into my wireless download speeds of 50 MBit / s to the pad (at a 100Mbit / s internet connection). Thus, it would actually still deserves a sixth star.

For the tablet is as announced Android 4.2.1 now available. This makes it one of the few devices with this version on the market.

After updating to 4.2.1 my unit was very slow, especially the Launcher "Overview" was sluggish and has completed regularly itself. After a reset to factory condition and refurbishment, this tablet runs now but again excellent!
