Criticisms:
- Quick Start Guide in paper form as well as detailed instructions on CD are partially more confusing!
- Software has alleged weaknesses, but only need to be understood. That's just, unfortunately, never mentioned.
Two examples:
1. You can edit videos. This option is not always available. Why? You can edit anything, as long as a recording plays in the background. Despite Twin Tuner.
2. Series Timer disappeared inexplicably again, here you had a TV lists setting a Pressing Buttons (SFI stations specifically activate). I found this out by accident.
3. The picture-in-picture function I would like to see a little more comfortable
It is moreover said that I put no value on functions such as network or browsing or HbbTV. I think it's simply not gone far enough. I do not exclude the unit with PC or Smartphone and can not judge also file compatibility via USB, because I just do not need. Or not yet.
That the device is not permanently receives and thus is not spontaneously for "rewind timeshift" available, but only if the "Record" activated by Pause button does not disturb me personally. If I know in advance that a consignment has possibly great moments that I want to look the same again, I'll take it on the first place. If I be disturbed during a broadcast, I think of it, press pause. Come up to the fact that I watch only a few broadcasts live, because it represents for me the meaning of a recorder to record things and to look at regardless of the broadcast date.
As for the criticism of HD broadcasts, I consider myself out more than ever. Whoever criticizes here who does not know, for example, that the reduced Funtionalität not go out in HD recording (no fast forward, possibly no long archiving or no recording) from the device, but is actually controlled and restricted by the broadcasters! :-( And that no two HD broadcasts can be received at the same time, but rather then strike the second tuner and is not designed to, as far as I have researched the hitherto still nowhere or rarely solved in the satellite world.
Which by the way pretty good (not always perfect) work, is perfect recording (as a kind of sequel to VPS), although this is precisely also from the transmitter signal depends.
Although I'm more a fan of private, I have to say that the public control the Perfect Recording really perfect. The end of the crime scene is therefore less vulnerable, while then opportunity as the end of Dr.House just online. There is also always the end, what is missing, as the signal to broadcast change is set rather before the start of the next program to be too late.
The device is the way how my knowledge all Technisat devices, Unicable-compliant. The info is incredibly difficult to find, but you can be confirmed by the Hotline also is at TechniSat incidentally SCR or satellite CR and means that you can use both tuners through a cable (looped speak internally) when the corresponding Unicableanlage has.
Who feels the "box" as a clunky, loud or something, in my opinion, also has a very different feeling than the average customer. I feel nothing about it.
Note: The difference between S and S1 is in fact only in the presence of the HD card at Digicorder Isio S. So a par value of 50 euros difference between the two reference numbers. I know because I bought the S commercially and out the map, everything is equal :-)
I would still recommend the S1 offered here. I find the HD card is not worth it, the restrictions make fun naught. But everyone decides for himself alone. 50Euro per year for a few more HD channels, which do not offer course far everything in HD is already borderline. Then even accept restrictions on itself, the absurdity a recording function (no fast-forwarding of eg annoying advertising!), Helps me in deciding ...
Conclusion: strong buy recommendation and a thoroughly satisfying, if not inspiring device to perfection is closer than any of its competitors!
