Installation is relatively easy:
- Connect both devices to electrical outlets
- On each press the pairing button, wait a few seconds and release: when LEDs no longer flash devices are paired
Then, with my setup:
- I then plugged in the main unit into an outlet and have connected to the router via an ethernet cable
- I connected the device to the second floor on a socket
- I then connected via an Ethernet cable (supplied) a computer running Windows 7 to the first device
- On the computer, launch the installation CD netgear: better to be connected to internet for updating the app is available
- From the software, accepting default values, choose the name of the SSID of the wireless and WPA2 encryption
- That's it: in 10 minutes, the network is configured and the second wireless network is available. The record is very clear.
Only regret: the device is not a "real" wifi repeater: my wifi filtering rules from the main router (access hours for children machinery for example) are not included in the secondary wireless network.
But overall very satisfied with the product.
