Because of bearing damage the Alt washing machine had to be either repaired or replaced. As the price / cost of a repair (I would have made the exchange of the parts themselves) was no longer considered to be justified taking into account the then purchase price, age and expected further term after repair, we were looking for a cheap washing machine in the initial purchase.
