If I have to compare it to that of Scottish saga Vonda Sinclair "Raiders of the Highlands", I admit that prefer more Vonda Sinclair. I can not say exactly why. I think it lacks a little something to make the really thrilling story. Despite this small problem, I loved this book and I had a very good read and escape. The author takes us briskly, in Gisèle and Nigel adventures through France and Scotland. No downtime, action, passion (of course), honor, in short all the ingredients are present for a good adventure book. It attaches to the character Gisele, "this little pink the beautiful country of France" to the sharp and courageous language with the family of her late husband in pursuit. The DeVault accuse him of murdering her husband although she maintains his innocence. She gets help from Nigel, valiant Scottish knight who took her under his protection. Is Gisele happen to prove his innocence and to not focus on her protector? These are the issues that I guess.
