Especially for Dias (something else I have so far not scanned), the results were disappointing but for me. First, the images are a little grainy for my taste, but this is related mainly with the ScanGear software. Professional software as SilverFast should lt. Internet forums provide better results, since the feature "Multi Exposure" and specific algorithms can significantly improve the results. Wonders why the manufacturer Canon not equal to a reasonable software mitliefert which can fully exploit the scanner.
But my main point of criticism is the scanning speed. While the leased Diascanner a 50s magazine by working in about 8 minutes, the 9000F needs in the setting 4800dpi about 12 minutes for only four images. I was clear that a flatbed scanner would take a little longer, but more than my 200 slides I would therefore not wish to scan. Incomprehensible to me that the included slide carrier holds only four slides at once. On the scanner glass would easily accommodate 12 slides or more, this could be triple the scanning speed loose.
Summary: Who has documents and from time to time a few slides, or a small slide collection (and a couple of evenings time) makes nothing wrong here. If you want to scan Papas slide collection with tens of thousands of slides, will be quickly unnerved and had better access to a (rented) slide scanner.
