First, the power supply has been tested at home on normal mains (230 V). There it worked flawlessly. At the 12-volt socket (cigarette lighter) in your car it worked at first at first easily. After 2-3 times will plugging and protract the 12 volt plug occurred first loose contacts. On the journey then the power supply turned out more and more often and it had to be pushed down the plug always somehow or rotated (very very annoying). At some point during the journey I noticed then a slight fire / Schmörgelgeruch in the car. I asked my daughter to immediately pull the plug of the power supply from the socket because of the smell clearly came from this direction. The 12 volt plug was very hot and the plastic of the plug had melted one place.
I can only be glad that this has happened and noticed when we were in the car. If we forget to pull the plug when leaving the car (usually I never let power consumers to the 12 V sockets, when I leave the vehicle - but you can indeed times quite forgotten) and it would then come into the plug on this Schmörgelei? ? Who knows if there would be our car then now ??
I have three other devices that I operate already for many years at 12 V sockets. It has never been problems. And such a serious problem as described - certainly not.
1 star I forgive even because the power supply yes to 230 V working properly and the vulnerability is probably obvious only due to the 12 volt plug. But this is a weak point can be extremely dangerous. Therefore, I can not guarantee buy recommendation here unfortunately, when the power supply is to be used in a vehicle.
Return and refund the purchase price has nevertheless at Amazon - as always - easily folded.
