Sarah Connor also has therefore opted in 2005 for bringing a Christmas album on the market. Actually yes a very nice idea. Well, an album she has managed, but this thing about Christmas is then something went wrong. The approaches are in my opinion very good, some songs are inspired by traditional Christmas carols, which indeed sounds very promising, sometimes looking to the songs but in vain. "Why does it rain", a quiet song with guitar in the background, allegedly with the melody of "Snow, Weißröckchen" (they've unfortunately still not found). Apart from the text of the song not much weihnachtliches off which is a shame, because the text is as I said pretty good. In the rest of the songs can be well seen the traditional melodies although more or less, still does not come really Christmas spirit on. The chorus of "Sweet is the song" is very good and also very Christmassy, but unfortunately the verses always remind me a bit of a wicked, American nightclub, I can not help myself. Less Christmas. "Tonight's the Night" also sounds very American again, but this time more like gospel singing, though a matter of taste, I personally think it's not bad. In "A New Kingdom" Although fit text and melody beautifully for Christmas, the song sounds but unfortunately still a bit boring. Too bad, because it would certainly more of it can make. "Come together" is also again a little too modern, despite the game clock at the beginning and at very beautiful melody. Also, Sarah Connor has ventured to a few classics. When you hear the first sounds of "The Christmas Song", you feel first as in a disco because of the sound it is very techno standard (again not really Christmas). With a little bit of other music that would become what determines. "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" is indeed held back more on traditional, but unfortunately the vocals in the song is so funny that I can not even much abgewinnen him. But with three stars it must indeed give a couple of good songs. "Christmas in My Heart" is a nice Christmas ballad, nothing extraordinary, but the Christmas spirit is all on. "Ave Maria" is half Latin, half English sung, very reminiscent of the Church, I think is a great opening for a Christmas album, also is the song very well sung. Another classic, the slower "White Christmas", is one of my favorites because this is the only one who really remembers really at Christmas. Also highly recommended (and here I am, unfortunately, my motto unfaithful), which is somewhat faster and catchy "A ride in the snow", although not sooo Christmas, but so super song, so you must love him anyway! ;-) And now we come to the absolute highlight of the album - that of "Vom Himmel hoch" inspired "Be Thankful" A very slow song with a super tune with flute and harp (as it sounds at least for me). If a song comes on this CD Christmas spirit, then at this! Absolute Scan-Tip!
In conclusion, one can say that this album unfortunately mostly nothing to do with typical Christmas carols, which is a shame, because the approaches are quite good and one of the one or the other song would certainly have more to do. So if "Last Christmas" and similar loves (like me) might be disappointed with this album. But lovers very modern Christmas songs and fans of Sarah Connor could be enthusiastic about this album.
