The delivered us Follow Focus has the following disadvantages:
1. The gear is not fully concentric, it wobbles minimal (ugly, but in practice it might not be noticeable).
2. The quick-release ("quick-fix clamp") to mount it on the rig is so stiff that you scratched the Rigstangen and only draufbekommt him, if you push it from the front over the bars (not with quick ...). The reason is that one of the two holding jaws engages too far to the bar and also is unsightly sharp. Here is perhaps therefore a manufacturing error.
3. The screw to lock the quick-release closure is so unfavorably positioned to obstruct the movement of the Focus across the rig. So the gear to the lens has (Canon 70D with EF-S 18-55mm IS STM) still 3-4 mm distance because the follow focus for the screw can not be putting it close enough to the lens - clearly a design flaw.
4. The gear ring belt sits on the above lens extremely shaky. The Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS USM lens, the focus ring is close to the camera, the lens is thicker. Here the follow focus could be tested provisionally. It works, it can be regulated very well.
5. The folding stopper for start and end points has some play and therefore wobbles a bit. Thus, the start and end point is not entirely accurate to adjust. In practice, this has probably no influence, but a flaw it's.
A pity, especially because of the points 2 and 3, I will send the part back.
Addendum: I have now found a replacement: Fotga DP500IIS focus device for 5DII III 7D DSLR D90 (A / B, hard stop). Costs with 141 bit more about him, but everything is right, a lot of high-quality manufactured. I have also written a review for this purpose.
