Caveat: I take pictures for private pleasure, wants no larger deductions than Din A-4 format. I would like to tell my impressions to help others in their decision, even though I have only 2 days camera and have not been tested every function. Despite the very contradictory reviews I decided for the SX 60. So far I had always quite good results achieved with the Canon PowerShot SX40 and was therefore difficult to imagine that a new Canon will be the total flop now me. And it is - for me - and by no means. The strongly negative reviews I can not understand and keep them for frivolous. It concerns with the SX 60 is a bridge camera (no SLR with special lenses!). I personally attach great importance on the one hand and the other hand on macro shooting as much zoom. Both met the camera very well. The macro images are crisp and sharp, with brilliant colors. The shots with zoom are also excellent with less zoom, of course, the quality with increasing push for. Consider this example also the airborne mist. Today I made recordings, among others with extreme zoom setting, a total of 260 times (optically combined with digital). Without stand me get a lot of pictures that were not blurry. The image quality was surprisingly good, although not perfect - as well as at this magnification? Next I photographed animals that lay in her dark building and others who were sitting in dark corners. With the naked eye, they were difficult to see. If you compare the camera with SCN to low light, so you still get great pictures with outstanding depth. So the camera could fully convince in this area myself. A video also showed excellent picture and sound quality. Images with a "normal" setting, as expected, were always first class. The camera is by its roughened surface very well in hand. Even at high zoom it has a good chance to keep them ruihg. What I want to highlight positive as for me next, the operation is similar to that of my SX 40 - so no long learning curve necessary. Battery is the same as the 40 SX, so fully usable. Something I would not wish: printed manual and not only as a download. But then it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the camera, so I give full credit and wish everyone as much fun with the SX 60, as I have him.
