For me, unfortunately, not an alternative to Fritzbox

The TP-Link Archer should replace a Fritz box 7330 with me. This was broken after less than one year. Because I have a feeling that the AVM products are not very durable (myself two Fritz boxes in 3 years are kaputtgegangen) should it happens to be something else.

I have an Internet connection of 1 & 1 with VoIP telephony. Since my phone does not have a DECT transmitting station should this be integrated in the router. According on the packaging of the TP-Link router for the above connection is suitable.

The router has a large but quite nice housing. The three antennas but he is already a powerful appearance. The quality of housing is good and the buttons are mounted low. I particularly like the on-off switch at the back of the device to the router azuschalten when you're out of the house any longer.

When you connect the router notices that the cable lengths are sized a bit short. Although the router is on a dresser next to the telephone box the cable was too short. The power cable is a little longer but not generous.

Setting up the Internet was not a problem. The start code of 1 & 1 is not supported, but 1 & 1 is selected as a provider and access data can then be typed. The user interface of the router is very extensive and at least I had many functions a mystery. Respect. the Internet facility, it was also not necessary to change something there.
The phone has can be very easily connected to DECT. As the establishment of the Internet is facilitated by a wizard duck this process.
Unfortunately, there is but I did not manage to set up the IP telephony. I was used by the Fritz box that the phone numbers are automatically adopted. This was not the case in Archer. The numbers I was able to manually create but the call was not then possible. The manual has left me in this step down. In my view, the Fritz box the better product for people who want to deal with network technology, little. When Archer everything is a bit more complicated. That does not mean, however, that it is bad to set up in commissioning simply is not going as smoothly as with a Fritz box. Not least with me to set up the telephony was not possible, so the device is useless for me. Too bad, because the promised 3 years warranty can hope for is a sturdy product.

Meanwhile, I have now but a new Fritz box 7330 in use. This was set up in just a few minutes and also the telephone worked spontaneously.
