In this disc I passed through several reviews here on Amazon. In a rather well-known jazz great, I started to hear the 30-second snippet, read the reviews, was in those then referred to other CDs, and so I came ultimately to Christian Scott's "Rewind That".
From the fragments of the 30-second format done before a positive, I have the CD in the 3-pack for 15, - purchases (of course not the same ;-) 3x). Could not go wrong indeed. When I heard this CD for the first time, I was "blown away". Really "beginner-friendly", without losing the reference to the "right" Jazz (NOTE: My subjective opinion as a non-jazz expert). Varied pieces, great trumpet playing, quieter things in between. I find this drive great.
Usually I listen to a new CD 2-3 times, then it comes on the shelf and is perhaps brought again in a few months out. Not so with this CD. This I have heard in the first few weeks a dozen times, so good I find you.
For sound:
Lately, I have seldom heard a better recorded CD. Great dynamic range without being too quiet, but without clipping as they unfortunately are commonplace, especially nowadays. Finally, the CD has to offer a great bass, but again: not exaggerated, but simply fits.
Strong buy recommendation for jazz newcomers.
