Died in 2003 at the age of 77 years British composer made primarily a name as a creator of music for films of very different nature, and one of his plays you know guarantees: Ron Goodwin we owe, among other things the famous recognition theme of "Miss Marple" - Movies with Margaret Rutherford.
The catchy theme may not be missing, which owes its title to that movie, of which I have ever bought myself the publication on the double CD. I may be wrong, but I think the main theme of "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" ("Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines", GB, 1965) had not been previously released on CD. With the main theme of "Where Eagles Dare" ("Where Eagles Dare", UK / US, 1968) can be found on the publication of another one of my personal Ron Goodwin-favorites, and thus are the main reasons for the Errwerb the Double speak CD, already called for me.
Be honest: Just CD1, the 29 instrumentals long that part of Goodwin's work is dedicated to that has arisen not for films, is in my opinion too much from the spirit of the 60's by blowing while a bit too interchangeable, as I for me the Single Collection really could sustainably inspire. As Sunday daily spa concert goes by perhaps all, but when I was growing draw similar orchestral works for comparison, I note again that I know the sound of Bert Kaempfert, Horst Jankowski, Gerhard turning or James load just like better.

Looking for a sound carrier, using the famous "Miss Marple" theme? Then this double CD is a sensible alternative to more expensive "Miss Marple" CD that Goodwin has recorded in the 90s together with the Odense Symphony Orchestra. If you at one of the many TV broadcasts also the main theme of the thriller "Where Eagles Dare" went into his ear, you have another reason to access. Worthy of mention are also the "liner notes" in the booklet: Although the CD appear to have been thrown on the occasion Goodwins death in January 2003 rather quickly to the market (which is a predicate what !?), the comments are informative and make a profound impression. Fans of the composer may therefore safely access, because the CD release per se has not really room for improvement. Half a star deduction's from me that some of the early recordings sound really bad flat, another star I draw from because I have a track (and sometimes more than one track) to find not saying the bulk of the material.
