That the coffee powder is too hot during grinding with this machine and thus the flavor breaks, as rumored in relevant boards and forums on the topic of coffee, is not true. The knife and the coffee powder are at Impulsmahlung (small breaks during milling) not more than lukewarm. But it is not just ground evenly. Therefore, I have now acquired a machine with conical grinder for espresso and use the Clatronic now for dried Bhut Jolokia-pods (a hot chili variety) and the dried shrimp and tubifex to crush as fodder for my fish. The cover can be washed easily, the percussion container is cleaned between those applications best by grinding a cup of rice with upstream and nachherigem Auspinseln. Of course you could also define it more for every application at the price of this mill.
The dried Bhut Jolokia-pods (with granular shares) processed by this machine to fine flour, as it does not bring multiple expensive WMF hand mills with ceramic grinder rudimentary existence. Whether produced by this machine coffee sufficient for filter coffee or pre-ground coffee tops, I can lack a willingness to try filter coffee, do not tell.
For marinades, soups and stews, I like to use bay leaves. The subsequent fishing out of, or bay leaves from soup and stew I've always been a bit annoyed until I came up with the idea to pulverize the leaves with the Clatronic. And they may well. The same goes for dried rosemary (if you do not have fresh at hand), the normally very long must be cooked to be soft - nothing for dishes with a short cooking time, such as tomato soup. Pulverized by the Clatronic, there's now also for rosemary produced from fresh ingredients "instant soups" and also the laurel aroma can develop intense and you need a smaller amount. Speaking amount tip: PREGRINDING No large quantities of spices, as they milled in quickly lose their flavor than straight, as everyone knows, who knows the difference between freshly ground pepper and ground purchased.
If you consider that cheapest, existing apart from the knife entirely of plastic parts "shredder" (those in which rotate two knives when it suppressed) from grocery stores cost almost half of this mill, the price of this mill is a joke. The powerful engine is just like the knife beyond reproach. Anyone who wants to crush spices or is aromatic stove coffee cans, can access completely unconcerned here.
Clatronic is incidentally not the manufacturer but only the trademark of CTC Clatronic International GmbH Kempen (a pure distribution company), which draws its goods mainly from China. This is true but also more or less on the Swiss "Nobel brands" like "Jura" about, should not be a hindrance purchase.
